Focus on Life ~ Week 29 ~ Routine

This week's prompt: routine. A routine that you look forward to each day.

This was hard for me. I hate routine. It makes me want to scream doing something day in and day out, over and over. I do not find comfort in it :( And hence, I do not have a daily routine...sure I wake up, brush my teeth and all that. But that's like breathing, you know? I wish I had a disciplined, routine life. And I have tried to get there too, really, I have. But I get this suffocating feeling by day 2. And I go back to living with the flow.

So I had to think really hard, even discussed it with another blogger, and still could not come up with anything. And then I got in my car, turned it on, (no wait, switched it on, there is no key to turn anymore), and heard some strange sound from the radio. I had tuned into the Indian channel the previous day, and they were hideous. Utterly hideous! When the thought of NPR crossed my mind, I knew I had my answer. I clicked a picture before tuning into Michael Krasny's voice :-)

Here it is...my routine! NPR!

  1. NPR is a great one - that is part of my routine as well. I listen to the NPR podcast Pop Culture Happy Hour when I go for my walks. Where do they find all those people with the same vocal timbre?

    1. Hmmm...haven't heard that one. What time is it on? I only listen in the morning 10:15 to 10:30 and evening after 5:30 on my way back home :)

  2. LOL..enjoy!! Are you a talk radio listener, or a music fan? We don't get NPR in Canada, the kind-of-equivalent is CBC Radio, which is MUCH less interesting.

    1. I listen to both...switching to music when NPR has sports on, and switching to NPR when there is no music I like...

  9. I had a difficult time with this assingment too as my morning routine is about the only thing that is routine for me. The rest is a guessing game.

I love your photos of your car radio!

  10. lol! I hate routine, too, except my morning one. It's probably why I don't join clubs or have regular dates with anyone. There was so much routine when I went to work in Corporate America each day that I fight against it.

    1. That makes total sense! With me though...I have never had to build a routine and never did, and now it seems like an alien thought..

  12. Haha, that would have been my second choice - radio. There is no switching right now, over the summer it is on country :)

  13. Ah nothing more soothing to the frazzled brain then your own personal radio...if my husband and I are in the car at the same time we end up changing the stupid station back and forth : P
