I wanted to title this post as "Quit!". Sounded too harsh and "final".
"Taking a break" sounded like I will definitely come back.

Neither works for what I am feeling right now. Completely "out" of it, and can't bear to bring myself to create anything :( I think I am going to have to stop now. Till when, I don't know.

I will finish all my commitments that I have so far, and also all the challenges I have participated in. But beyond that seems hard for me to do right now :((

Sigh...am sad :((

    1. Uh-oh! Sorry :((

It did get a bit overwhelming, especially since i started a new job and some other stuff going on.
But I will be back soon hopefully! I love this too much to pack it up for good!

And wanted to take this opportunity to say that I LOVE your work, the butterflies are SO pretty! You should so totally somehow get them to print on silk, and make scarves, those would ROCK!

  2. *hugs* Every creative person hits that point. Some more than once. Maybe it'll leave before you even finish your challenges and will be right back into it again... or maybe it'll be longer. You can't hold your creative soul prisoner though, so it'll come out in some way. I hope things brighten soon for you !

  3. When I can't create and feel stuck I know I am out of balance. It usually happens when life is overwhelming and I do too much for others. It is okay to back off and take time for YOU. I have been like this for a few months and after taking time off, I feel like creating again. You will too- just remember you need to do things for yourself too. The challenges will still be there when you feel more able to cope.

    1. Katherine, yes! That's it! I am overwhelmed, am neglecting a few things that I should not (exercise, home, etc) and feeling a bit stressed. And I cannot create unless I am happy. So will slow down, and see how I can balance it all and will be BACK soon :)

    1. Emma, I have been in this state for a while, and was hoping the retreat will help "fix" me. It didn't :(

I realize now that I need to slow down and figure out how to pencil in a few things that I had been neglecting, and come back! Hopefully soon!

  6. Kashmira,
I'm so sorry to hear this. I don't know what is causing this feeling but I hope things change for the better so you can do the things you love. But if you find yourself on a totally different path I hope it is one that brings peace.

    1. Alice, just stressed out and doing things in a chaotic way got to me. Nothing more serious than that, thankfully! All these messages on this post are making me feel so good and well loved, that I will be back soon! Thank you!

  9. I'm sad, too, Kashmira! It sounds like your Muse is playing a cruel trick... hopefully as you are working to fulfil your projects, you will experience some glimmers. At worst you may need a little down time... and we all need that sometimes! Try not to be too discouraged!

  10. Kashmira~ I am sad for you! :-(
Hope you are OK and just in a bit of a slump. This time of year can make people feel overwhelmed. Take a sabbatical, take all the time you need, but please don't leave us forever!! Wishing you all the best~
